Dear Mr Rothberg ,

I have a question regarding the use of Circus magazine content in a documentary . My company ,www.roadaheadpro.com , is currently in the production / development stages of a documentary entitled Rock Bards , a comprehensive look at the Golden Age of Rock Journalism ( 1996 - 1980) . Rock Bards will be directed by Raul Sandelin ( A Box Full of Rocks : the El Cajon Years of Lester Bangs ) .. We would like to feature different Circus magazine covers in the documentary , and would appreciate any direction you could give us in going about securing the rights to do that ..

In the late 70's I bought my high school diploma from a classified ad in the back of Circus Magazine so I could get my first job. Instead of doing school work we use to read every single issue in English class and discuss the articles and the advice letters. Good thing you had classified ads. I am doing quite well economically and I thank Circus magazine for getting me through school emotionally and into my first job

When I was a young'en, I once kept this one issue of Circus Mag. Probably around 1971-72 version. Anyway,it had some pics of young peope getting into a a hot air ballon or sitting around it.Something about those photos gave me a sense of happiness and freedom. I never forget that particular issue of your magazine even after 40 some years.. Thanks
